Description

Position Summary

As a member of the production team, the RMA Technician (Return Material Authorization) pays a critical part of the manufacturing process by using his or her knowledge, skills, abilities and personal characteristics to accurately diagnose issues with firearms and competently repair, alter, and/or replace any problem parts.

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM
Wage: $11.75 - $18.00/hour depending on experience

Responsibilities

  • Understanding and capability of manual machining on both a mill and a lathe.
  • Ability to shoot groups consistently and precisely and maintain the ability to shoot ½ MOA groups with a high round count.
  • Ability to track and report problems via Excel and company software.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate to customers and customer service reps what problems are or are not present and what steps will be necessary to correct them.
  • Track customer returns using Infor VISUAL RMA and other logbooks to minimize turnaround time and maximize positive customer experiences.
  • Record customer interactions in VISUAL Enterprise ERP and/or Salesforce CRM to provide a relevant history of interactions with individuals and organizations outside of the company.
  • Listen to customers as they express their perception of their interactions with Christensen Arms’ personnel, products, and services to manage and resolve any negative experiences resulted in pleased customers.
  • Process all data related to customer and consumer feedback on Christensen Arms’ personnel, products, and services to enable the company to improve management, product, and service offerings.
  • Provide support for all web store transactions including responding to customers, entering sales orders into VISUAL Enterprise or Salesforce CRM (as applicable), and updating shipment status to provide timely information to customers and Christensen Arms.
  • Work with the Quality Assurance (QA) department to provide data and reports necessary to support product and service controls and improvements.
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives by providing suggestions, making process changes, and documenting.
  • Travel on a limited basis with occasional consecutive overnight stays to support customer visits and trade shows.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED preferred.
  • Skill and experience with hand tools (files, grinders, etc.)
  • Attention to detail.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of proper fit and function of Remington 700/Remington 700 type Action.
  • Knowledge of proper fit and function of AR-15/AR-10 Action and Receiver.
  • Knowledge of proper fit and function of 1911 Pistol.
  • Understanding of headspace.
  • Skill and experience using caliber and bores.
  • Advanced knowledge of customer service principles and practices to support communications.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) to process information, reports, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation to write reports and record information.
  • Basic knowledge of Christensen Arms standard operating procedures to ensure work tasks are carried out according to proper protocols.
  • Advanced knowledge of Christensen Arms products and services to answer questions, train consumers, and continue to establish the brand.

 

Success Factors

  • Returns products on a timely basis for final quality inspection and shipment.
  • Minimizes the cost of ammunition in the verification process.
  • Shooting equipment is maintained and cared for to ensure long-lasting service.
